1st Reconciliation Retreat 2014
1st Reconciliation & 1st Communion
Dear Parents,
It is with joy that the people of Immaculate Heart of Mary parish welcome your child as they receive the sacrament of Reconciliation and Communion this year! All sacraments are times of joy and of paramount importance in the life of the Church and each of its members. The sacraments are acts of the Church, having both a personal and communal dimension.
Requirements:
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as well as the Diocese of Little Rock has established regulations which every Catholic Church must adhere to. These requirements include: preparing for the sacrament within community, the student completing a year of faith formation prior to entering sacrament preparation, and attending Sunday Mass.
Schedule for the Year:
Saturday, December 6th, 2014 9:00am – 1st Reconciliation and Retreat
Students should come dressed appropriate for Sunday Mass. There is a mini retreat prior to having the children receive their First Reconciliation.
Friday, May 1st, 2015 8:15am – May Crowning for IHM School
Students should come dressed in First Communion attire and bring their school clothes to change into after Mass.
Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 9:00am – First Communion Practice and Pictures
Students should come dressed in First Communion attire. Picture order forms will be available that day. Expect practice to last about 1 hour.
Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 7:30am - Meet in the Cafeteria in the Parish Life Center (Don’t be Late!)
Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 8:00am - First Communion Mass
Each Family has one pew reserved directly behind the communicants. Names will be randomly drawn and pews will be marked with Communicants names.
Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 9:15am - First Communion Reception
Communicants will go directly to the Gym in the Parish Life Center where a reception will be set up for the families. Please plan to attend.
First Communion Attire:
Girls White dress with veil or ribbon on head.
Boys Button down shirt, tie, and slacks (any color) and jacket or suit coat.

Confirmation

All sacraments are times of joy and of paramount importance in the life of the Church and each of its members. The sacraments are acts of the Church, having both a personal and communal dimension.

Sunday, October 5 - Rite of Welcoming & Parent Retreat
Saturday - Sunday, January 10/11 - Confirmation Retreat
Sunday, March 1 - Rite or Enrollment and Sponsor Retreat
Rite of Confirmation (10:30am Mass) - April 19th
